Current Skincare Favourites

So my skin has had its ups and downs, which I am sure the majority of you can relate with. I have tried a few different products but never felt like they actually did what they said they should. For so long I tried all of those ‘amazing’ products that YouTubers and bloggers were promoting but they never worked and were often super expensive. Here is what I am currently using and it seems to be doing its job (fingers crossed), maybe this will help some of you get back to basics.

Clean Face

To really clean my face I like to use a scrub but something gentle enough to not harm or irritate my skin. Especially living in a city, the pollution and grime can get deep in your pores and I am not about that. The Origins Ginzing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser works amazing for this. It works for all skin types and its main ingredient is coffee which is a great way to start the day. (it doesn’t smell of coffee, just fresh and citrusy).

Cleansing

In the past I have used ‘real cleansers’ but most recently I have been using coconut oil, warmed up in my hands and it cleans my face and leaves it so soft. I use a muslin cloth or bamboo cloth to wipe away the oil and buff the skin. *make sure you use clean cloths and have plenty for the week, you don’t want to put the dirt back on your face*

Morning Moisturiser

Back to the Origins GinZing collection, I love the Energy-boosting moisturiser. When I put it on in the morning I feel so refreshed and my skin looks bright and dewy. It is a gel-like consistency but isn’t too thick to go on under makeup. The perfect product for when you’re tired, it asks as a placebo to make you think you’re energised!

Evening Moisturiser

My go-to for the night-time is the La Roche Posay Toleriane Ultra Overnight. Now, this isn’t a cheap product at around £17 for a 40ml bottle but a little goes a long way. I had a major breakout of rosacea and this has helped so much. Also, since using this I have noticed a massive difference in my skin when I wake up, it feels plump and healthy.

Masks & Treatments

The Origins Overnight Hydrating Mask with avocado and swiss glacier water feels incredible on the skin. So hydrating and not sticky so great for overnight application for super hydration.

Another one is the L’Oreal Paris Pure-Clay Charcoal Detox Face Mask. This is a little more aggressive to the skin but if I am having a spot issue I apply to those areas and it clears them right up. *I don’t use on my cheeks or sensitive area as it causes irritation*

Homemade masks are fun to make with friends and feel amazing too. You will need;

  1. 1 ripe avocado
  2. 1 ripe banana
  3. 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
  4. 1 tsp of orange juice or lemon juice

These ingredients are full of Vitamin A, B, C, D and E!

This is currently working for me but if you have any products that you swear by then let me know.
