I’ve just returned from a little weekend city break to Berlin!
It was the first holiday that myself and my boyfriend had been on together and this was a place we really wanted to go and October seemed the perfect month.
We stayed at the Titanic Comfort Mitte Hotel, which was in a perfect location of Berlin. It was super close to a bus stop and a subway stop. Also we did want to be able to walk to some things which we did the majority of the time so we could explore and also save money. However, travel around Berlin is super cheap!!!
Before we went I did lots of research into the best places to go see, eat and drink.
Of course when you’re in Berlin you have to try german beer! This is my boyfriend drinking a litre! And there’s me, pretty happy with my half a litre. This was at a place called Die Berliner Republik which we loved and spent hours in here.
We both had a curry wurst but mine was made of tofu! I was so happy to find a vegetarian option of a traditional German meal.
This was the view from the Reichstag Building Dome. We went at about 6pm and got a beautiful night-time view of Berlin. This was our favourite thing we saw, the view was amazing but also there was so much information to read, something we found really interesting. It is also free!

Berlin is full of important historical places, Checkpoint Charlie being one of them, again full of information and all for free. The Memorial for Murdered Jews was really interesting. The memorial made us feel very enclosed and trapped, something I think the Artist was intending to do.
My number one tip for Berlin if you were to go is to eat at the small cafes and bistros and not the American restaurants you recognise. My second tip would be to walk as much as you can because that is where you stumble across the small squares and amazing little restaurants.
Hope you enjoyed this picture filled post. Head over to my Instagram for some more photos of my time there @katyelizabeth__f.
