Carrot and Ginger Smoothie

Today I fancied trying out a new smoothie. I tend to stick to the kale and spinach smoothies but today I felt adventurous! I wanted something to make my insides say ‘thank you’. I went for a Carrot and Ginger Smoothie which I sort of just guessed the measurements for and tweaked it as I went.


  • Two medium carrots (Pealed)
  • Grated Ginger (to your own liking)
  • One apple
  • One banana
  • Half an orange or 1 nectarine
  • Handful of blueberries (provides a nice purple colour avoiding the smoothie to look like sick)

This was actually super tasty and very good for you! The carrot is super high in Vitamin A (helps you see in the dark). Also they contain high quantities of calcium helping you have strong bones and strong immune and nervous system. They also help you have soft skin and strong hair and nails – all round they are fab!

The ginger is high in Vitamin C along with the other fruits involved in this recipe. However ginger is excellent for the stomach and intestines. If you’re ever having a poorly tummy day ginger is a great reliever of this.

And finally, blueberries not only make it look pretty but those tiny little fruits are in fact an antioxidant powerhouse! There are full of Vitamin K, C, fibre and loads of antioxidants!
